Schoolgirl ‘commits suicide’ in Kurigram

A schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her house at Sabujpara village in Chilmari upazila of Kurigram on Sunday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Nazmin Akter Lima, 13, a class VII student and daughter of Nurul Amin of the village.

Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Chilmari police station, said Lima's mother scolded her when she wanted to go out after returning home from private tuition in the afternoon.

Later, family members found her hanging from a ceiling fan around 2:30pm.

Later, she was taken to local hospital where doctors declared her dead.
