Dengue snatches another woman's life

DengueA woman died of dengue at the 250-bed General Hospital in Jashore town on Sunday, reports UNB.

The deceased was Sagarika Ghosh, 28, wife of Ananda Ghosh of Amtala-Mollapara area of the town.

Syed GGA Kadri, a medicine specialist at the hospital, said Sagarika was hospitalised on Friday morning with dengue fever.

She was later shifted to diarrhoea ward of the hospital on Saturday afternoon.

“She died of dengue around 10:30am on Sunday,” the physician said.

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Health Services said 287 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country in 24 hours till Sunday morning.

Of them, 100 were admitted to hospitals in the capital city.

Currently 1,132 dengue patients are being treated for dengue at hospitals –417 of them in Dhaka.
