The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a probe against Khulna Railway Station master Manik Chandra Saha who reportedly amassed huge wealth illegally, reports UNB.

The ACC headquarters in the capital came to know in June last that Manik owns three houses, including a duplex one, fixed deposit receipts (FDRs) worth Tk 7.5 crore, monthly DPS, a flat and huge land in Khulna, Jashore and Narail, said sources at the ACC Khulna office.

He has also allegedly rented a luxurious flat in Dhaka.

Most of the FDRs and property are in the names of his wife and children, the sources said.

Later, the anti-graft body ordered probe against him.

Accordingly, Nil Komol Paul, deputy assistant director of ACC Khulna office, is looking into the allegations.

Contacted, the ACC official said there were a number of corruption allegations against Manik Chandra Saha. "We're investigating the allegations," he said, declining to elaborate further.

Meanwhile, the stationmaster denied all the allegations against him, saying he has a no property other than a tin-shed house.

He also alleged that a vested quarter is carrying out propaganda against him.
