Abrar Fayaz, the younger brother of murdered BUET student Abrar Fahad, got enrolled at Kushtia Govt College on Thursday leaving Dhaka College.

He submitted his transfer certificate (TC) collected from his previous college to the principal of Kushtia Govt College professor Kazi Manjur Kadir in the afternoon.

The principal said the college administration will ensure his security and help him in his studies.

Earlier on Tuesday, Fayaz took his TC from Dhaka College to get enrolled at Kushtia Govt College.

Barkat Ullah, father of Abrar Fahad, said his second son Fayaz will continue his studies at Kushtia Govt College.

Prof Kazi Manjur Quadir, principal of Kushita Government College, said Fayaz has been enrolled at the college against a vacant seat under the Science department.

Abrar Fahad, 21, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, was beaten to death allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall.

BCL is the student wing of ruling Awami League.

He was found dead on the staircase of the dormitory in the early hours of 7 October after the BCL leaders beat him at room-2011.

After the murder, Fahad’s younger brother Abrar Fayaz became afraid of going back to college in Dhaka for studies.

Speaking with the newsmen at his home on 12 October, Abrar Fayaz said he is alone now as his brother used to take care of him in Dhaka. He also said he would not stay in Dhaka anymore as his brother is no more.
