Police recovered an unidentified dead body with severed hands and legs abandoned in a trolley bag near a bus terminal in Mymensingh on Monday morning.

Mymensingh police superintendent Md Shah Abid Hossain confirmed this to Prothom Alo.

Locals found a red bag abandoned in the area around 11:00am on Sunday and informed the police, according to the police and locals.

Police, as the bag seemed heavy, suspected initially that the bag might contain explosives and lined sand bags around it as primary safety measure.

Police said, a team of explosive experts of police opened the bag on Monday morning and found a body of a man wrapped in polythene bag inside the trolley bag.

Police super Shah Abid Hossain said, “We are suspecting this to be a cold-blooded murder. We are investigating the matter seriously.”
