Three grenades and six landmines, believed to be used during the liberation war in 1971, were recovered from a graveyard at Rampura village in Adamdighi upazila of Bogura on Saturday night, reports news agency UNB.

Jalal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Adamdighi police station, said some children discovered the grenades and landmines while playing near the graveyard and informed others.

Police went to the spot and recovered those around 9:30pm after digging two old graves.

There was 1965 inscribed on the landmines as the manufacturing year, the OC said, adding that the grenades and the landmines were probably used during the liberation war in 1971.
