One killed as covered van falls into ditch

The assistant of a covered van driver was killed as their vehicle fell into a ditch by Bhanga-Kathalbari Road in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur on Monday, reports UNB.

Locals said the Kathalbari-bound van from Bhanga fell into the ditch at Dotara around 8:30am after its driver lost control over the steering, killing his assistant on the spot.

Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Shibchar police station, they recovered the body.
