Eid-e-Miladunnabi on 10 Nov

Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the day of birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), will be observed in the country on 10 November (Sunday) as the moon of Rabiul Awal was sighted in Bangladesh sky on Tuesday.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram office, said an Islamic Foundation press release.

Religious affairs ministry joint secretary MA Hamid Jamaddar, Islamic Foundation secretary Kazir Nurul Islam and Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Hafez Maulana Muhammad Mizanur Rahman were, among others, present at the meeting with religious affairs secretary Anisur Rahman in the chair.

On this day in 570, the 12th of Rabiul Awal of the Hijri calendar, Muhammad (pbuh) was born in Makkah of Saudi Arabia with divine blessings and messages of peace for mankind. He also passed away on the same day.
