Naogaon road crash kills 2 DB men

Two members of district Detective Branch (DB) of police were killed as a vehicle carrying them crashed into a roadside tree in Dhamoirhat upazila of Naogaon on Thursday night, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as assistant sub-inspector Basir Uddin and constable Monir Hossain. 


Officer-in-charge of district DB KM Samsuddin said the accident took place at Hazratpur around 9pm when a team of detectives was returning after arresting a young man along with phensidyl syrup at Agradigun.

He said the DB team arrested Nur Alam Pinky, former joint general secretary of Sapahar upazila unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, along with 113 bottles of Phensidyl.

The vehicle hit the roadside tree after its driver lost control over the steering, the OC said.
