Schoolboy electrocuted in Dhaka

A ninth grader of Dhaka Residential Model College, Naimul Abrar, was electrocuted during a programme of monthly Kishore Alo marking its anniversary in Dhaka on Friday.

The accident took place on the premises of the college, the programme venue. Two specialst physicians of the emergency medical camp at the programme gave Naimul primary treatment after which he was rushed to a private hospital in Mahakhali. The physicians there declared him dead.

After holding namaz-e-janaza at Residential Model College, Naimul’s body was taken to Dhonnyomuri village in Sonaimuri, Noakhali.

Naimul Abrar, son of a certain Mojibur Rahman, is younger among two siblings.

Principal of the college brigadier general Quazi Shameem Farhad mourned his death and said a committee was formed to investigate into the incident.

Kishor Alo editor Anisul Hoque expressed deep shock over the death. He visited Naimul at the hospital and conveyed his condolences to the family. He said Naimul's family will always be a family of Kishor Alo and added that Naimul will be remembered for ever.

An investigation will be carried out following strict principles regarding the incident, Anisul Hoque added.
