Madrasa teacher ‘beats student to death’

A case has been filed against a madrasa teacher for beating a student to death, reports UNB.

Hafez Mawlana Abdur Muktadir, a teacher of Islamia Madrasa of Doleswar area of South Keraniganj, is on the run.|

The victim’s aunt filed the case with Keraniganj police.

Shah Jaman, officer-in-charge of Keraniganj police station, said the victim Shuvo Hasan, 7, was severely injured after his teacher Muktadir beat him up on Saturday.

Shuvo’s relatives took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital when his condition deteriorated. He succumbed to his injuries later that night.

The case’s investigation officer Imran Hasan said police are trying to arrest the accusedteacher.
