Madrasah student dies after beaten by brick

A madrasah student was allegedly killed after being beaten by a brick at Chilmari upazila of Kurigram on Monday, reports UNB.

The deceased was Shakil, 8, son of Abdul Kader and Kohinoor Begum of Hatithana Badh Rasta area and student of Alhajj Rajab Uddin Nurani and Hafezia madrasha area of Thanahat union of the upazila.

Locals informed that like other days Shakil went to the madrasah on Monday morning and he came out of his classroom at around 9am. At that time, Rezaul was moving from in front of the madrasah.

At this time as Shakil tried to irritate Rezaul, Rezaul threw him on the ground, and then beat Shakil on the head with a brick. Local residents detained Rezaul and sent Shakil to hospital. The on-duty doctor there declared Shakil dead.

Aminul Islam, OC of Chilmari police station informed that the body has been sent to morgue for autopsy.
