'BCL men' attack demonstrating JU teachers, students

At least 30 teachers and students of Jahangirnagar University who were staging demonstrations demanding the resignation of vice-chancellor Farzana Islam were injured in an attack allegedly led by leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
The clash took place in front of the residence of the VC around 12:00pm on Tuesday.
The demonstrating students and teachers had been confining VC Farzana Islam to her residence since Monday evening, demanding she resigns.A group of teachers, who are reportedly supporters of the VC, tried to disperse the demonstrators as well.

Around 200 BCL men swooped on the agitating students and teachers leaving more than 30 injured. Among them, 12 took treatment at the university medical centre while 20 others were taken to Enam Medical College Hospital.
