JSD leader Badal buried in Chattogram

Freedom fighter and member of parliament Moin Uddin Khan Badal who died on Thursday was laid to rest in Chattogram on Saturday night, according to UNB.

He was buried at his family graveyard at Saroatali village in Boalkhali upazila around 10:00pm following four namaz-e-janazas.

His first janaza was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the capital in the morning while the second one at Jamiatul Falah Jam-e Mosque in the port city after Maghrib prayers, third one at Sirajul Islam Degree College ground in Boalkhali at 8:00pm and the last one at Ibrahim Noor Mohammad High School ground at 9:00pm.

He was also given a guard of honour before the third janaza.

Badal, executive president of a faction of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), breathed his last on Thursday while undergoing treatment in an Indian hospital.

He was elected an MP thrice from Chattogram-8 constituency. He was known as a great orator in parliament.

Badal, who was involved with Bangladesh Chhatra League in his student days, actively took part in the liberation war. He was one of the key persons who tried to prevent offloading of firearms at Chattogram port during the war.
