Meghna trawler capsize: One dead, four others missing

A fisherman was killed and four others went missing after a fishing trawler sank in river Meghna in Char Fasson, Bhola on Sunday, reports UNB.

The deceased Khorshed and all the other victims came from village Abdullahpur of Char Fasson.

Twenty fishermen were returning home after selling hilsa in Barishal markets when their trawler capsized in the river around 1:00pm, UNB quoted Ruhul Amin, Charfasson upazila nirbahi officer, as saying.

Although 15 fishermen managed to swim ashore, the rest went missing, he said.

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard salvaged the trawler and retrieved the body of Khorshed, South Zone officer Mahbub was quoted to say.
