Policeman killed in Khulna road accident

A man was killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a human hauler at Rupsha, Khulna on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 52, a policeman from Ilairpur village of Rupsha.

One of the passengers of the human hauler, Amzad Kha, from Jolma village of Botiaghata, sustained injuries in the accident that took place along the Rupsha-Bagerhat Purono Sarak at Debipur area around 8:00am.

Victim Nazrul was headed to Fakirhat on a motorcycle from Rupsha while a Rupsha headed human hauler collided head-on with his vehicle leaving him seriously wounded, said Jakir Hossain, Rupsha police station officer-in-charge.

Nazrul died on the way while he was being taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), the OC added.

The body of the victim has been kept at KMCH morgue.
