Charge sheet filed against Kalabagan Krira Chakra president

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday filed charge sheet in a narcotics case, filed with the capital’s Dhanmandi police station, against Kalabagan Krira Chakra Club president Shafiqul Alam Feroz, reports BSS.

Investigation officer and RAB-2 sub-inspector Jasim Uddin filed the charge sheet with the court of Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury this afternoon. The court sent the matter to Dhaka metropolitan sessions judge court for further proceedings.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Shahinur Rahman on 10 October sent Feroz to jail as police produced the accused after end of his three-day remand in the case.

The court of Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Abu Sufian Mohammad Noman on 6 October placed Feroz on three-day remand.

RAB filed the two cases against Feroz on 21 September with Dhanmandi police station.

The law enforcing agency members seized new type of yaba tablets from Shafiqul Alam Feroz’s possession. The yellow colour yaba has no particular smell, making it a significant discovery for the agency.

A foreign made pistol was also recovered from the club along with three rounds of bullet, coins, scorecards, which are usually used in a casino, were also recovered from the club with 572 packets of playing cards.

Shafiqul Alam Feroz was a leader of Krishak League, an associate body of ruling Bangladesh Awami League. Following his arrest and involvement with casino business, Feroz was expelled from Krishak League.
