Two days after a deadly train crash in Brahmanbaria, Rangpur Express, bound from Dhaka to Rangpur, braced an accident at Ullapara station in Sirajganj at around 3pm on Thursday.

The engine and three front coaches of the train caught fire after the engine and seven coaches derailed, snapping rail links between Dhaka and northern districts.

Ullapara upazila nirbahi officer Arifuzzaman confirmed this. The UNO said the accident took place due to errors of the pointing signal of Ullapara station.
