Gas cylinder explosion kills 1

A man was killed in a gas cylinder explosion at a workshop in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday evening.

The deceased is Aiyub Ali, 32, son of a certain Taleb Ali of Officepara area of the upazila.

The incident took place when a gas cylinder exploded while Aiyub was welding an empty oil drum, leaving him dead on the spot at around 6:00pm, witnesses said.

Sub-inspector Mohammad Shah Jahan of Kalamarchhara police outpost confirmed the incident and said the relatives of the deceased took the body after the incident.
