BCL factional clash injures 8 in IU

At least eight people were injured in a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday evening over a trivial matter, reports UNB.

Witnesses said the clash erupted near Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall around 7:00pm following an altercation between Oshan and Jhinuk when the latter slapped the former.

Later, the two BCL groups swooped on each other with sharp weapons, leaving at least eight people from the both sides injured.

The injured were taken to university’s central hospital for treatment.

On information, IU proctor professor Paresh Chandra Barman went to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control.
