14-year-old boy allegedly rapes 7-year-old girl

A 14-year-old boy was arrested from Hajiganj upazila in Chandpur on Wednesday evening for allegedly raping a 7-year-old girl, reports UNB.

The arrested was identified as Rakib, 14, son of a certain Mozammel Haque of Joyshar village in Gondhorbopur union in the upazila.

Police said the victim and her family were tenants in the house where Rakib lived. Finding out that the girl was raped by the boy, neighbours informed this to Hajiganj police station.

Md Abdur Rashid, office-in-charge (investigation) of Hajiganj police station, said the victim’s father filed a case.

The victim will be sent to Chandpur General Hospital for a medical test today, the OC added.
