33 shops gutted in Khulna fire

At least 33 shops were gutted in a fire that broke out early Tuesday at Ferry ghat intersection in the city, reports UNB.

Iqbal Bahar Bulbul, deputy director of fire service, said the fire broke out around 6:00am and engulfed 33 shops that were mostly filled with winter cloths.

Eight fire-fighting units from Boyra and Tutpara rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control within half an hour, he added.

The origin of the fire could not be known yet.
