2 girls ‘raped’ in Satkhira, Barguna

In Satkhira, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday detained two people from Palashpool area of the district for reportedly raping a schoolgirl, reports UNB.

The detained were Hossain Morol, 18, and Akbar Ali Gazi, 38, from Jethua village in Tala upazila.

UNB quoted acting company commander of Satkhira RAB camp, BNM Mahmudur Rahman, to say that Hossain formed a relationship with the grade seven girl.

Later, he tactfully took the girl to a residential hotel near Satkhira Bus Terminal on Tuesday where raped her, Mahmudur Rahman added.

Akbar took the video footage of the rape incident, he said, adding that later he also raped the girl threatening to upload the video on the internet.

Tipped off, the elite force conducted a drive at the hotel and arrested them, the RAB official said.

In Barguna, a grade four student was reportedly raped by a young man at Latakata in sadar upazila on Monday, UNB says.

The victim was undergoing treatment at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) in Barishal.

Police detained Shawon, 19, of the village in this connection, said Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of sadar police station.

Shawon took the girl to behind the house of one Moti Mia and violated her while she was returning home after tuition on Monday night, UNB quoted the victim’s mother as saying .

The girl reportedly became unconscious and was taken to Barguna General Hospital where doctors referred her to the SBMCH for better treatment.
