BGB detains 7 while for Bangladesh from India

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained seven people while entering Bangladesh from India through the Moheshpur border area in Jhenaidah, reports UNB.

A man, woman and four children were detained on Wednesday night while another woman was held on Thursday morning.

Jhenaidah BGB 58 additional director lieutenant colonel Quamrul Ahsan said the group of six was detained from Pipulbaria village of Kusumpur BOP while a woman was apprehended from the house of one Mashiur Rahman in Sundorpur village for illegally entering Bangladesh from India.

All the detainees were handed over to Moheshpur police, he said.

All of the detained claimed that they are Bangladeshi citizens. The group of six went to India 10 months ago for medical treatment.
