JMB man sentenced to 10 years in jail

A Chapainawabganj court on Sunday sentenced a member of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to 10 years jail in a case filed under the Arms Act, reports UNB.
The convict is Abdul Munid alias Monirul, 35, son of Azmal Haque of Koyra Diar Sannashi village in Shibganj upazila.

Additional district and sessions judge court judge Shawkat Ali handed down the verdict.

Additional public prosecutor Anjuman Ara said that one shooter gun and three rounds of bullet were seized from Monirul's house during a drive on 18 June in 2009.

A case was filed by sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman with Shibganj police station in this regard.
