Elderly woman killed in road crash

An elderly woman was killed being hit by a covered van in Saheb Bazar area in Old Dhaka on Monday night, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Sufia begum, 65, a resident of Wari in the capital.

Abdul Khan, assistant sub-inspector, Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Camp, said the covered van hit Sufia Begum around 10:00pm.

Locals took her to DMCH where doctors declared her dead at 11:00pm.

The body was kept at the hospital morgue, the ASI added.
