BUET ragging: 14 more students expelled from hall

The authorities of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have expelled 14 more students from their dormitories on charges of ragging their fellows.

The students were residents of Titumir Hall, reads a notification singed by Mizanur Rahman, director of BUET’s Directorate of Students’ Welfare, on Wednesday.

Among them, eight students were removed from the hall permanently while six others were expelled for different terms. Also, one student was served a warning for his activities.

The expelled are Md Tanvir Hasnain, Mirza Mohammad Galib, Md Zahidul Islam, Md Mustasin Moin, Asif Mahmud, Muntasir Ahmed Khan, Mohibullah and Anfalur Rahman.

Those who were expelled for short terms are Md Zahidul Islam, Zihadur Rahman, Md Ehsanul Saad, Abid-ul Kamal, Mohammad Sayad and Mahmadul Hassan.

Earlier on 28 November, BUET expelled 26 students from its Ahsan Ullah Hall and Suhrawardy Hall. Nine of them were expelled for life.

Six of them were residents of Ahsan Ullah Hall. They are Sabyasachi Das, Soumitra Lahiri, Planbon Chowdhury, Nahid Ahmed, Arnob Chowdhury and Farhad Hossain. Three others were residents of Suhrawardy Hall. They are Md Mobassher Hossain, ASM Mahadi Hassan, and Akib Hassan Rafin.

Besides, 17 other students of Suhrawardy Hall were expelled for different terms and reprimanded for their activities.
