Police checking triggers tailback

A five-kilometre long tailback was created on Dhaka-Aricha highway on Thursday after law enforcers set up check posts at different points of the highway, causing immense sufferings to passengers, reports UNB.

Following the directives of the higher authorities, police have set up check posts to search vehicles which created the tailback from Aminbazar to Hemayetpur, said ASM Sayed, officer-in-charge of Savar police station.

“We’ve information that a vested quarter is trying to create unrest in the country over the bail petition hearing of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case,” he said.
