Three of a family killed in Tangail road crash

Prothom Alo illustrationThree members of a family were killed and five others injured in a road crash on Dhaka-Tangail highway near the Bangabandhu Bridge in Bhuapur upazila of Tangail on Friday morning.

The deceased are Abdul Karim Sarkar, 60, his wife Matoara Sarkar, 50 and their daughter Kaniz Fatema, 30.

Also, Kaniz Fatema’s husband Selim, her son Sami, aged around two and half, certain Imdadul Haque, Runa and Meghla were injured in the accident.

Aibur Rahman, Bangabandhu Bridge east police station officer-in-charge, said three people were killed as a Dhaka-bound microbus hit a stationary covered-van in Golchattar area of the upazila this morning.

Five others, he added, were hurt in the accident. The injured were rushed to Tangail General Hospital.
