A Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) candidate reportedly took her own life after failing to secure pass marks in test examination in Kushtia on Tuesday, says UNB.

The deceased was identified as Nupur Khatun, 17, a student of Doarka Das Women College in Harinarayanpur village.

Quoting victim’s family, police told UNB that Nupur was upset over failing in four subjects in the test examination. The mother of the victim took her to the principal’s office on Tuesday morning seeking results.

At one stage, she allegedly drank poison and fell sick, UNB says.

She died before she could be taken to Kushtia General Hospital.
