Physicians at the forensic medicine department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday said they found no evidence of rape after the postmortem on the body of Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa, a private university student, reports UNB.

Head of the forensic medicine department Sohel Madmud told UNB that they did not find any sign of rape in the autopsy.

The body of Rumpa, 22, a second-year English student of Siddheswari branch of the Stamford University, was recovered from an alley behind Ayesha Shopping Complex on Wednesday night.

On Thursday morning, police filed a murder case with Ramna police station in this connection.

Detectives detained Saikat, a friend of Rumpa, on 7 December and put him on a four-day remand the following day.
