Housewife ‘gang raped’ in Savar

Police arrested two men in a case filed over the alleged gang rape of a housewife in Savar on Thursday.

The arrestees were identified as Shimul, 19, and Jewel, 18.

Zakaria Hossain, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station, said the victim filed a case against the duo in the morning. Later, police arrested them from the area.

According to case statement, Shimul picked up the housewife while she was returning home at night. Later, the duo threatened to kill the woman and raped her.

Police sent the victim to one-stop crisis centre of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
