‘Drug addict’ son kills parents in Jashore

A man and his wife were killed by their son, described as a drug addict by police, at Ramkrishnapur in Chowgachha upazila on Wednesday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased are Mohiruddin, 65, and Ayna Begum, 55, residents of the village.

Rifat Khan Rajib, officer-in-charge of Chowgachha police station, said the couple's son Milon, 28, was a drug addict.

He had an altercation with his parents who had refused to give him money for buying drugs, the OC said.

"At one stage, Milon attacked his parents with a sharp weapon, killing them on the spot around 11:30am," he said.

Police arrested Milon from his residence about an hour later.

The bodies were sent to Jessore General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

A case was filed at the police station in this connection, the OC added.
