City road crash kills pedestrian

An unidentified pedestrian was killed after being hit by a covered van on West Kalshi Road in the capital's Pallabi on Saturday, reports UNB.

Md Mizanur Rahman, sub-inspector of Pallan police station, said a covered van hit the man, aged about 55, around 9:30am in the area, leaving him severely injured.

He was immediately taken to nearby Islami Bank Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the physicians declared him dead at 11:20am.

The body was kept at the DMCH morgue and police are trying to know the identity of the deceased.
