Man strangles wife, daughter dead
A man allegedly strangled his wife and daughter to death over a family feud in Mymensingh city on Wednesday night.
Additional police superintendent of Mymensingh Sadar circle police Md Al Amin confirmed this to Prothom Alo.
The accused, Shafiqul Islam, allegedly throttled his wife Ruma Akhter, 38, two daughters -- Nafiya Akhter, 13 and Sadia Akhter, 21- in a bid to kill them. Ruma and Nafiya died immediately while Sadia sustained the attack. She is now undergoing treatment at the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Shafiqul fled the scene after the incident.
Al Amin said police recovered the bodies and sent them to Mymensingh medical for autopsy.
The police personnel are trying to arrest the accused, he added.
He also said police suspected that the incident might occur due to family dispute.
