Chattogram gas cylinder explosion injures 3

Prothom Alo File PhotoAt least three people were injured as a gas cylinder went off in a lighterage vessel at Banglabazar of Majhir Ghat area on the bank of Karnaphuli river in Chattogram on Tuesday.

The injured were identified as Mojammel Hossain, 30, Haidar Ali, 25, and Md. Ershad, 24, reports UNB.

Fazlur Rahman Faruki, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat police station, said the incident occurred around 4:30pm when the three was repairing the vessel with welding equipment including the gas cylinder.

The explosion left three of them injured and were rushed to the hospital, Faruk said, adding that a leakage on the cylinder might have caused the explosion.
