Detectives arrested the main accused of a double-murder case, who had gone into hiding after securing bail from the High Court, from Dhorla village in Boalkhali upazila in Chattogram early Wednesday, reports UNB.

The arrestee was identified as Ajit Biswas, a Jubo League activist.

Badrul Kabir, inspector of Chattogram detective branch of police, said Ajit, the prime suspect of CRB double-murder case, secured bail from the High Court after his arrest but did not appear before the sub-ordinate court later.

Tipped off, a DB team conducted a drive at the village and arrested Ajit around 2:30am, said the inspector.

On 24 June, 2013, a minor boy, Arman Hossain, 8, and Jubo League activist, Saju Palit, were killed in a clash between Jubo League and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in the port city's CRB area over a railway tender bid.

Two cases were later filed over the incident and Ajit Biswas was the main accused in a case filed by Minati Palit, mother of Saju Palit.
