Madrasha girl gang raped, 2 arrested

Police arrested two people on Tuesday night for reportedly gang-raping a sixth grader of a madrasa in Rajapur of Jhalakati district, reports UNB.

The arrestees were identified as Sagar Khan, 18, and Hemayet Khalifa, 40.

Family members said, the neighbours Jalal Hawlader and Sagar took her to one Hemayet’s house in the locality on Sunday morning and raped her in turns at Hemayet's place.

They also threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone.

However, the girl narrated the incident to the family members and the girl’s mother lodged a case with Rajapur Police Station on Tuesday night.

Contacted, Abul Kalam Azad, Inspector (Investigation) of the police station, said two suspects have been arrested.

“Drive is on to arrest the other accused. The girl has been sent to Sadar Hospital for medical test.”
