A former employee of chain shop Aarong on Tuesday confessed to his involvement in secretly recording the videos of a changing room of female employees, reports UNB.

He made the confessional statement before a Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

The accused, Sirajul Islam Sajib, 22, was arrested from East Shewrapara in the capital on Saturday. The law enforcement seized his mobile phone containing a total of 36 video clips of the changing room, said Nazmul Islam, additional deputy commissioner of Cyber Security and Crime Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

A female employee of Aarong’s Banani outlet along with several other colleagues filed a complaint with the division recently in this regard.

According to the complaint, Sajib had been blackmailing the victim by sending her the video footage he recorded using a selfie-stick from outside the room.

Sajib had lost his job from Aarong last year after complaints of recording secret videos raised against him.
