Women wing chief of 'Neo-JMB' remanded

A Dhaka court today placed alleged chief of banned militant outfit neo-JMB’s women wing on three-day remand in a case lodged under Anti-terror Act.

The remanded accused is Asmani Khatun alias Asma alias Amatullah, 28.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Mohammad Jasim passed the order as investigation officer and Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Inspector Sohrab Hossain produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place her on a 10-day remand.

CTTC arrested Asmani on 4 February from capital’s North Kamalapur area.

According to the police, Asmani Khatun used to lure people online to join the militant group. She used to maintain links between the top militants.
