Girl killed after ‘rape’ in Bandarban

A 10-year-old girl has been murdered reportedly after rape by a Rohingya youth at Ghumdhum of Bandarban's Naikhongchari upazila on Saturday, reports UNB.

The victim was identified as Rasmin Akhter, daughter of Nur Mohammad of the area and student of a local school while the accused is Rasel, son of Rohingya Nurul Islam.

Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Naikkongchari Police Station, said they recovered the body around 10am. She might have been killed after rape.

"We've arrested the suspected rapist. Legal action will be taken against him," he added.
