The post-mortem reports of 67 victims of the tragic Churihatta fire in Old Dhaka have been finalised and will be handed over to police anytime, reports UNB.

Associate professor Sohel Mahmud, head of forensic department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed the matter while talking to reporters on Wednesday.

"The post-mortem examinations of 67 victims have been completed and initially 45 individuals were identified through various means. DNA profiling has been done on 22 victims and 19 were identified," he said.

"Identities of three victims are yet to be confirmed," he added.

Replying to a question, Mahmud said the unidentified bodies will be identified through DNA profiling once the DNA samples are submitted.

He explained that it took some time to prepare the post-mortem reports as they received the DNA report last week.

Seventy-one people were killed and dozens were injured in a fire that broke out at a chemical warehouse at Wahed Mansion and raged through four other adjacent buildings in Chawkbazar on 20 February, last year.
