Dialogue with political parties, including BNP, in one or two months: CEC

The chief election commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal on Friday said dialogue with the political parties, including BNP, may be held within one or two months regarding the next national election.

The CEC came up with this disclosure while talking to journalists following the inauguration of voter list registration-2022 at Savar in Dhaka.

When asked whether the EC will take any initiative in restoring BNP's trust, Habibul Awal said, "We, the commission, will decide how the political parties would be called in and the dialogue with them to be held. We will soon urge all political parties, including BNP, to sit for dialogue."

When asked about the date of dialogue, he said, "I cannot say exactly, but it probably take place within one or two months."
