Jamaat secretary general sent to jail

A court here today sent secretary general of Jamaat-e-Islami Mia Golam Parwar to jail after end of his three-day remand in a case lodged under explosive substance act, reports BSS.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Yasmin Ara passed the order as police produced him before the court and pleaded to keep him behind the bars till the end of probe in the case.

Earlier, on 14 February the court placed the Jamaat leader on three-day remand in the case lodged with Paltan police station.

Sub inspector Khandaker Arif Uz Zaman filed the case over Hefajat-e-Islam's mayhem in Baitul Mukarram and adjacent areas on 26 March, 2021.
