JaPa observes Ershad's first death anniversary

Jatiya Party (JaPa) has taken elaborate programmes to observe the first death anniversary of the party’s founder Hussain Muhammad Ershad today, maintaining the social distancing in wake of the COVID-19 situation.

The programmes include hoisting party flag at half-mast at its all offices, offering Ziarat at Ershad’s graveyard, placing wreaths at the grave and holding doa mahfils and discussions.

Jatiya Party chairman and deputy leader of the opposition in the parliament GM Quader along with central leaders offered Ziarat at the graveyard of former president Ershad at Palli Nibas in Rangpur this morning.

Besides, a discussion and milad mahfil will be held on a limited scale at Jatiya Party chairman’s Banani office in the city at 4:30pm this afternoon.

Former president of the country Hussain Muhammad Ershad died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka on 14 July last year at the age of 89.
