The qulkhwani of professor Emajuddin Ahmed, former-vice chancellor of Dhaka University (DU), will be held in the city on Friday.
The qulkhwani and a doa mahfil will be held at a mosque in the city’s Kataban area after Jum’a prayers seeking eternal peace of Emajuddin’s departed soul, said a press release on Thursday.
It said the programme will be arranged on a limited scale due to the current coronavirus prevalence.
On 17 July, Emajuddin died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in the capital at the age of 87.
He was buried beside his wife’s grave at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard the same day.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters and left behind a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Emajuddin served as the 21st VC of Dhaka University from 1992 to 1996.
He was awarded prestigious Ekushey Padak in the education category in 1992.
