Regent Hospital MD arrested for giving metro rail workers fake COVID-19 certificates

Managing director of Regent Hospital, Mizanur Rahman, has been arrested on charges of issuing fake coronavirus test reports to 76 metro rail workers.

Uttara West police station’s officer-in-charge (OC) Tapan Chandra Saha told Prothom Alo that Mizanur Rahman had been arrested on Friday night from Gopalganj.

The hospital authorities had charged Tk 3,500 for each test. The result of 73 workers came negative while three were positive. But later, the workers came to know that the results were fake, the OC added.

Metro rail project authorities filed a case in this regard with the Uttara West police station on 20 July.
