‘Bangabandhu Corner’ in Australia

The Bangladesh high commission in Australia has launched the Bangabandhu Corner in the high commission premises in Canberra on Thursday, Bangladesh's national mourning day.

Inaugurating the Bangabandhu Corner, Bangladesh's high commissioner in Australia, Mohammad Sufiur Rahman, said the would spread the ideology of Bangabandhu among the young Bangladeshis residing in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

The corner has Bangabandhu's portrait, relevant audios and videos including the historic 7 March speech, photographs of the life and works of Bangabandhu.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh high commission in Sri Lanka on Thursday announced that with funds from the Bangabandhu Memorial Trust, it would bear the expenses of treatment for three cancer patients for a year.

Bangladesh High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Riaz Hamidullah later handed over Rs 300,000 to the Institute Of Palliative Medicine in Matara during an event jointly organised by the Cancer Care Association of Sri Lanka and the Bangladesh high commission.
