Five policemen, including additional superintendent of police, were injured as activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) reportedly attacked them in the Bogura district town on Wednesday, reports UNB.

Additional SP Sanatan Chakrabarti, who was injured in the attack, said JCD leaders and activists brought out a procession in the down at noon marking the 41st founding anniversary of the student wing of BNP.

At one stage, some JCD activists went to the Shaheed Minar wearing shoes and started chanting slogans. When police tried to stop them, they engaged in an altercation with law enforcers.

"At one stage, they attacked police with sticks and brick chips that left five policemen injured," Sanatan claimed.

Abu Hasan, president of JCD's district unit, admitted that they had an altercation with police but denied the allegation of any attack on them.
