Inflation falls to 8.71pc in December

The country’s inflation fell to 8.71pc in December of last year from 8.85 per cent in November, according to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

The BBS published the latest data on inflation on Monday.

According to BBS, food inflation stood at 7.91 per cent in last December while non-food inflation was 9.96 per cent.

Inflation hit 11-year high to 7.91 per cent in August last year, triggered by 42-51 per cent rise in fuel price, and saw a downtrend for the next four months.
